Welcome
I woke up one day last January and weighed 299 lbs. Could not believe it! I had been a skinny child. I had a near perfect body that measured 36-24-35 when I hit my senior year of college. I was a dancer and had been athletic all the way through my 20's. I had two children and lost all the weight. It was unbelievable that I would put on 150 lbs in my 30's. I do not know how it happened but I do know one thing to be true I ate every time I was stressed. As a single mother on a teachers income. My finances swallowed me whole so I kept eating my way out of it. I felt strangled by the responsibility of two children on my own. I had little time for friends or myself. I had been on every diet known to mankind! Failed everyone of them. After several frustrating years of eating healthy and exercising constantly I did not lose a pound. So I gave up and put on more weight. Finally in 2007, I went and saw a doctor, my hair was falling out an alarming rate. I had no energy and was just plain sick! I was diagnosed with a severe thyroid condition, a big explanation of why I could not lose weight. I spent about 18 months dealing with different medications and doses and still could not get even close to having a normal thyroid. Finally in 2009, a new doctor and a plan! I now had diabetes and high cholesterol to go with my thyroid! I also injured my lower back making it nearly impossible for me to exercise.
